Today I would like to show you recipe of one of the traditional polish cakes - "Murzynek". That chocolate cake with strawberry jam or prune marmalade filling will surprise you with it's simplicity and how quick everything comes together to make a delicious sweet treat.

Ingredients:

250 g butter or margarine

125 ml milk

300 g sugar

3 tbs cocoa powder

4 eggs

225 g all - purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

Method:

Milk, cocoa powder and sugar put in a saucepan. By mixing the ingredients, slowly bring to boil. Add butter and mix until its competently melted. Put on a side to cool down.

Preheat the oven to 180 C.

Sieve flour and mix together with baking powder. Put it on a side.

Separate egg yolk and egg whites. Whisk egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add egg yolks to cooled down chocolate mouse and mix it on low speed with mixer.

Half of the glass from this mixture, put on a side as this is going to be your chocolate topping.

Add flour with baking powder to the rest of the batter and mix together on low speed with mixer.

Add beaten egg whites and mix slowly with spatula.

Place baking paper on the bottom of the cake form.

Pour the batter into cake form.

Bake for 45 minutes.

To check if inside of cake is baked, you can do it by poking the cake with skewer.

Leave it to cool down.

Use the rest of the chocolate mixture as a chocolate topping on the cake.

You can cut cake in half and spread jam or marmalade.

This easy chocolate cake is perfect for anytime during the day. With morning coffee or evening tea. It won't take you much time, around 10-15 minutes preparation and around 45 minutes in the oven.

Fugdy, soft and melts in your mouth is the way how I would describe this cake.

You have to try it!!

Enjoy!
